LandmarkCam draws the names and distances of landmarks over your camera view. If something looks wrong, it is almost always one of the three problems below — and the app has a fix for each.
That is the compass. Phone compasses drift indoors, in cars, and near metal or magnets. Open Adjust and drag the screen until the labels sit on the real thing. The correction is remembered for that place and released when you move away, because the magnetic error is different somewhere else.
Waving the phone in a figure eight also helps the phone recalibrate.
That is not the compass — it is GPS error, and turning the view cannot fix it. Open Adjust, turn on Position, then drag a nearby label onto the real thing. This moves where you are standing, so close things move a lot and distant things barely move.
That is the field of view. Open Adjust, turn on Field of view, and pinch until the spacing matches. Use something several kilometres away — close objects are thrown off by GPS error.
Landmark names come from Wikidata and OpenStreetMap; ground elevation from the Geospatial Information Authority of Japan and OpenTopoData. If a name is missing or wrong, it is usually missing or wrong in those databases — and anyone can correct it there, which fixes it for every app that uses them.
The app is free and shows one banner. It does not track your movement or keep a location history. See the privacy policy.

When reporting a problem, the version number helps. It is at the bottom of the Adjust panel.
