LandmarkCam

日本語

Point your phone at the view and the names appear over the live camera — peaks, towers, castles, stations, bridges and lighthouses, each with its distance, up to 100 km away.

It uses your position, the compass and the motion sensors. It is not ARKit or ARCore, so it runs on ordinary phones and works on things kilometres away that no depth camera can see.

Names come from Wikidata and OpenStreetMap; ground elevation from the Geospatial Information Authority of Japan and OpenTopoData.
